Travis Tritt who made a name for himself with hits including “Anymore,” “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” and “It’s A Great Day to Be Alive” will bring those hits and more to Franklin Theatre on Jan. 13 and 14 for what will be his first concerts in the Nashville area since 2002.
The shows, which will be taped for a live DVD, are acoustic and will include a host of the singer’s artist friends including Marty Stuart, James Otto and Kid Rock.
“I get to leave the audience with not only the music but the influences that I grew up with and it’s really, really a lot of fun for me,” Tritt says of his acoustic shows. As for his Franklin shows, he explained: “It’s been a long time since I’ve performed here. I’m excited. Really excited.”
Tritt has spent much of the last few years touring, sometimes with his full band and other times with just his guitar. He released new album “The Calm After…” recently on his own record label and the collection includes new songs as well as a cover of the Don Henley/Patty Smyth duet “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough.” Tritt’s version features him singing with his 15-year-old daughter Tyler Reese.
Tritt’s Franklin Theatre shows kick off the 25th anniversary of the country singer’s career. Tickets to the shows start at $100 and are available at www.franklintheatre.com.
