Travis Tritt To Release First Single in Over A Decade,“Ghost Town Nation”

Produced by Dave Cobb, new single rallies fans to leave the pressures behind and focus on the simple pleasures of Country Life

(Nashville, Tenn. – Sept. 14, 2020) Over three decades after having launched his extraordinary music career, one of Country music’s most notable artists, Travis Tritt, is set to release a new single “Ghost Town Nation;” the first release off his highly-anticipated forthcoming album, produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, The Highwoman, Brandi Carlile). The new single is now available for pre-save here.

Written by Aaron Raitiere and JB Strauss, “Ghost Town Nation” is an energetic song that sends the message of making the best out of a bad situation. Filled with guitar-riffs and Tritt’s rich vocals, the song rallies for when times are tough, and the pressures run high, to head to the country and focus on the simple gratifications of living life outdoors, such as the fish biting, the garden growing, the fire burning, moonshine, and more.

Tritt sings, “Well, I tell ya one thing that we all got in common; we ain’t gotta worry when the sky starts fallin’, No need to panic when the lord comes callin’, cause it’s all just a part of the show.” The song continues, “We’ll load on up, take it out to the woods, where the fish are still biting, and the eating’s still good.”

Tritt spoke about the song, saying, “I loved the overall groove of the song when I first heard the demo, but what really hooked me was the lyrics. At a time when so much of the country was on pandemic lockdown, I think the idea of escaping to a secluded spot in the woods was very appealing for a lot of folks. It reminded me of a “country folks can survive” theme. I personally know a lot of folks that still do this regularly.”

Like other notable artists, such as Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, Tritt is one of a few current country artists to be labeled as an “outlaw.”  His music is influenced by some of the format’s most timeless artists like Jennings and Cash, along with George Jones, Conway Twitty, Emmylou Harris, and more.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Tritt signed a record deal with LA-based label, Big Noise Music Group.  Tritt isfinishing up his new original full-length album, which is due out next year.

Travis Tritt’s albums, seven of which are certified platinum or higher, have led him to amass more than 30 million in career album sales, two GRAMMY® Awards, four CMA Awards, including the CMA Horizon Award (now known as the New Artist Award); a Billboard Music Award for Top New Artist, an invitation to become a member of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry and a devoted fan base that has filled venues coast-to-coast. He is also dubbed one of “The Class of ‘89,” which includes Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and Alan Jackson; all of whom dominated the charts in the ‘90s.

Among his eleven studio albums and numerous charted singles are five number ones and 20 Top 10 hits, including “Help Me Hold On,” “Anymore,” “Can I Trust You with My Heart,” “Foolish Pride,” “Best of Intentions,” “I’m Gonna Be Somebody,” “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s A Quarter,” “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive,” and more.

Additionally, throughout his extraordinary career, his talents have crossed over into film and tv, where he appeared in Rio Diablo (1993), The Cowboy Way (1994), Tales from the Crypt (1995), Sgt. Bilko (1996), Fire Down Below (1997), Outlaw Justice (1999), Touched By An Angel (1999), Blues Brothers (2000), Yes, Dear (2004), Brother’s Keeper (2013), Forever My Girl (2018), and more.

Travis Tritt continues to sell-out shows and stays authentic and relevant to country music fans across the globe. His distinctively soulful voice and exceptional guitar prowess continue to be front and center.  Tritt’s forthcoming new album marks his first original album release in over thirteen years. An album release date will be released at a later date.

#MusicInspires: Ray Charles

#MusicInspires Ray Charles, known as “the genius of soul,” grew up listening to country music.

In 2019, Museum historian Michael Gray moderated a panel — featuring John Burk, Concord Records president and producer of Charles’s album “Genius Loves Company”; Grammy-winning producer, songwriter, and musician SHANNON SANDERS; and country artist Travis Tritt, who idolized Charles and collaborated with him on an episode of “CMT Crossroads ” — about Charles’s impact on country music.

“Once I became aware of how much soul that Ray Charles brought into the country world, it opened up a whole new world for me,” said Tritt.

Hot Country Knights Drop Debut Video featuring Travis Tritt, “Pick Her Up,” [Video]

The Hot Country Knights — a band fronted by an incognito Dierks Bentley — dropped a new video for their debut single, “Pick Her Up.” The Hot Country Knights are comprised of Dierks’ road band, performing ’90s-esque country tunes while donning aliases, mullet wigs and over-the-top attire from the era.

In addition to featuring Travis Tritt, the Wes Edwards-directed video stars ’90s knockout Kelly KapowskiValerie Malone, Tiffani Amber Thiessen.

“Travis Tritt is our longtime spirit animal and we have spent many a long night in the back of the van dreaming of working with or maybe even for Tiffani,” says HCK frontman Doug Douglason. “When UMG finally came around and signed us, they were two of our demands for the music video.”

The Hot Country Knights feature lead singer Douglas “Doug” Douglason, lead bass player Trevor Travis, lead guitarist Marty Ray “Rayro” Roburn, fiddle player Terotej “Terry” Dvoraczekynski, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky and percussionist Monte Montgomery.

Penned by Brett Beavers, Jim Beavers and Dierks Bentley, “Pick Her Up” will impact country radio on Feb. 3. In January, the band signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group Nashville, which is Dierks’ longtime label partner.

Travis Tritt performs solo acoustic show at Newberry Opera House

Newberry, SC (January 22nd, 2020) – As a child I spent many days at my dads house watching him work on his old motorcycle while playing with the neighbors kids out in the yard. There was always a radio on in the background filling the sound track of my youth with various genres of music. Country music was definitely in the forefront a lot of the time and one day these two girls from next door brought over 2 cassette tapes they insisted on listening too. With slower softer songs like “Can I Trust You With My Heart” and “Help Me Hold On” to the rocking “Put Some Drive In Your Country” and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” I couldn’t stop listening. For me, these songs showcased the best of both worlds, rock and country blended together as one and I loved it. As I walked into the Newberry Opera House this evening my mind flooded with those summer memories in anticipation of hearing those songs live from the man himself….Travis Tritt.

Travis Tritt is bringing his daughter and the Charlie Daniels Band to the Fox for this Thanksgiving concert

Travis Tritt is coming home again.
As with the previous homecoming concerts he performed in at the Fox Theatre in Midtown during the 1990s, the Marietta native and country music star is returning to the venue for his Thanksgiving Homecoming Show on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. For this event he’s bringing along the Charlie Daniels Band and his daughter, Tyler Reese Tritt.
“We used to do (homecoming shows) every year around the holidays, and we’d have guests come in that would perform with us,” said Tritt, who lives in Paulding County. “Those were so much fun and we had such a good time with those that we thought about the idea of trying to do them again.
“So this year, as it worked out, Charlie Daniels and I have been touring together a lot, and we were able to secure the venue, which is the Fox Theatre — one of my favorite places to play. So, we were very excited about the opportunity to play. Not only to return to the homecoming shows, but also to get a chance to do it with one of my favorite people, that is, Charlie Daniels, and at one of my favorite places to play in the entire country, i.e. the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.”
Daniels, who has been touring with Tritt for about 30 years, including much of 2019, is equally excited about the concert. In years past Daniels, who lives in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, has hosted a similar Volunteer Jam concert nearby in Nashville.
“It’s Travis’ homecoming concert and he’s a good friend of mine,” he said. “I know what it means to play in front of the home folks and he does, too. He’s shared that with me with the Volunteer Jam. It’s my first opportunity to do a show for him and his hometown. It’s going to be a banner night for everybody.”
Daniels is known for his 1979 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won Grammy, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its release in May, it’s been covered by artists ranging from The Chipmunks and The Muppets to Primus, the Zac Brown Band and Keith Urban.
